How do projects begin?

With a conversation. You do not need a polished brief or technical vocabulary.

The steps

  1. A first conversation

Tell us about the ambition, the blocker or the idea you are still shaping. We listen first and ask questions about your goals, users, constraints and timelines. There is no obligation, and you will leave with at least one useful next step.

  1. A shared understanding

We summarise what we heard, including assumptions and open questions, so we are sure we have understood. If we think a simpler or different route fits better than the one you had in mind, we will say so.

  1. A focused starting point

Depending on the uncertainty involved, we will propose one of two things: a short discovery phase (to research users, shape the product, test assumptions and estimate properly), or a defined delivery scope where the work is already clear. Either way you receive clear assumptions, milestones and costs.

  1. Agreement and kick-off

We agree responsibilities, ownership, communication rhythm and how we will measure success, and we put these in writing before work starts.

How long does it take to get started?

It depends on how ready you are and how quickly we can align on scope. Many projects move from first conversation to a proposal within a short period, and we will be open about timing from the beginning.

What if we are not sure what we need?

That is a common starting point and a good one. Much of our first work with clients is helping them frame the right problem.
